Marvel Rivals Cross-Progression: Identify the Primary Character Before Linking
Account access and the character holding your progress are different concepts. Read the current official cross-progression process and identify the intended character before linking platforms or changing a primary selection.

Use the updated official explanation
The publisher's later cross-progression Q&A supersedes the launch-era FAQ that said cross-progression was unavailable. Check the date and current account interface rather than stopping at the first old search result.
The official explanation distinguishes the platform account used to sign in from the character holding progress and collections. Linking accounts can let a selected primary character be used through the linked routes, while that does not mean every separate character's data is merged.
This website cannot inspect the account or select the correct character for you. Identify which character holds the progress you intend to use and keep the account history private. A display name alone may not be enough to distinguish several existing profiles.
Read the selection and cooldown conditions
If multiple accounts already have characters, inspect the current primary-character choice carefully. The official Q&A describes switching and linking restrictions, including cooldowns and platform-specific conditions. Read the live process before confirming.
Do not assume that an unwanted selection can be reversed instantly or that unlinking is a harmless troubleshooting toggle. Keep the current relationship clear and use official support when the intended account is uncertain.
For a worked example, a player moving from one platform sees two character histories. They identify the desired progression and read what selection changes before linking. They do not assume that choosing either character automatically combines every item, rank and record into one total.
Keep crossplay and progression separate
Being able to play with someone on another platform does not by itself establish how account data is shared. Use the cross-progression instructions for the data question, and the current matchmaking rules for the play-together question.
Read how device-specific records and rank context are handled in the current official explanation. Do not promise that every visible number becomes identical on every platform simply because one primary character is selected. Preserve the distinction between shared identity and platform-specific competitive context.
Keep purchase and entitlement questions within the provider's current rules. This article does not assess a transaction or guarantee that a particular platform item moves under every account action. Use official support with the required evidence kept private if something appears missing.
Verify the result through the intended route
After a supported action, sign in as instructed and inspect the expected character and content. A link confirmation should be followed by checking the practical state, not by immediately changing more relationships because one detail is unfamiliar.
If the result differs from the documented expectation, record the platform, character context and exact message for official support. Never give a password, authentication code or session to an unofficial account-merging service.
Finish with a secure note of the intended sign-in path and primary character. Cross-progression is most useful when the underlying relationship is understood. A careful check prevents an ordinary platform change from becoming confusion about merged data, cooldowns or an old FAQ that no longer describes the current system.
Before confirming any account operation, compare the exact platform identifier on screen with your notes. Similar display names can belong to different accounts. If the selection is unclear, stop at the information-gathering stage and ask official support how to identify the intended character without making a speculative link.

Questions that come up
Does linking automatically merge all characters?
Do not assume so. The official system distinguishes selecting a primary character from merging separate character data.
Can I rely on the original release FAQ?
Check its date. Later official cross-progression guidance changed the launch-era answer.
Can this site move or restore my character?
No. Use the official account process and support for ownership or unexpected-result issues.
